Areg Energia is a joint Armenian–Cyprus venture founded in 2020 to develop and operate utility-scale solar generation in Armenia.
Our first plant, Areg 1, was commissioned in 2022 under a Power Purchase Agreement issued by the Armenian government. In 2025, we expanded with Areg 2 — operating on a free-market license model. A further 1.1 MW DC extension is under construction.
Together, our plants supply clean electricity to the national grid while contributing to Armenia's energy independence and decarbonisation goals.

Both plants sit on the same site, chosen for its exceptional solar resource: a high-altitude plateau in southern Armenia with clear skies, low humidity, and long irradiation hours through the year.
